Uncle Wayne was just a precious man, his love and care for his family is inspiring. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. There are so many treasured memories of him that are all just so good and humorous. Being a part of his family is an honor. I love you uncle Wayne.

Our childhood homes were about a block apart, so Wayne and I often played sports together at the Horseshoe or Big Tree. Wayne was one of the fastest boys in our neighborhood and I was always envious of his speed. We were blessed to be tutored by our community's Greatest Generation and Wayne was a popular and successful student at Love Street Elementary and Unicoi County High School. Like many young men in our county, we served with honor during the Vietnam War. While the passing of time separated us, one doesn't forget those first friends who were an important part of those wonderful early years.

Wayne Sellars was one of the finest men I have ever known. He loved his family above all and was a very patriotic American. He was a strong and loyal supporter for me, and I am very grateful to him for that. I will never forget that he traveled the District with me on a thank you tour right after my first election to Congress. This Country would be a much better place if it had more men like Wayne Sellars.
