Wayne Spencer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by E M Coots' Sons Inc Funeral Home on Jan. 9, 2026.
Wayne Spencer, a man who could diagnose an engine by sound alone and a heart as big as his mechanical skill, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 8, 2026. He was 55 years old.
Born on November 15, 1970, to the late David and Mary Spencer, Wayne grew up to become a master diesel mechanic. Whether he was working with his CDL at the airport or tinkering in a garage, Wayne knew engines better than anyone. He was the first person neighbors called when they had car trouble, and he never hesitated to help, often expecting nothing in return but the satisfaction of a job well done.
More than a mechanic, Wayne was a devoted family man. He lived for the time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren, creating a lifetime of memories in a time that felt far too short. He was a generous soul who left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Wayne is preceded in death by his son, David Donald Spencer; his parents; his sister, Frankie Renee Spencer; and his brother, David Charles Spencer.
His legacy of love continues through his wife, Andrea "Paige" Hale; his children, Shawna, Crystal (Suede), Angel, Christina, Cheyenne, Cynthia, Olivia, Anna, and R.J.; his sisters, Armeda and Devin; and 13 beloved grandchildren.
A Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at E.M. Coots' Sons Funeral Home with burial to follow at Utica Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.
