Wayne V, Stanford was the third of eleven children born to the late Horace S, Stanford Sr., and Rose Willis Stanford. Wayne was born on December 9, 1952 in
Youngstown, Ohio.
Wayne always lived his life to the fullest from an early age into adulthood. Whether he was relocating to New York to find employment or finding new adventures around Youngstown. Wayne embraced every opportunity for excitement and joy. He had a reputation for being a ladies' man, but it was his genuine kindness, quick wit, and ability to truly listen that drew people in and made him so well liked. His charm reflected not just charisma, but a warmth that made everyone around him feel special and appreciated.
Wayne attended Grant Elementary, Hillman Junior High and South High School in Youngstown. Wayne's circle did not encompass a lot of friends, but those who knew him knew he had a heart of gold. He was always there to lend a hand-whether it was helping a neighbor move furniture or showing up for a friend during tough times. Wayne was always the first to arrive with a warm smile and genuine support. Above all, he deeply loved his family, making it a point to keep in touch. His phone calls, filled with care and encouragement, had a way of brightening your day and reminding you that you were loved and valued, leaving an unforgettable impression of kindness and loyalty. He never complained about himself; just knowing his family was okay made him content. His quiet strength inspired everyone in the family to appreciate what truly mattered. He knew God and developed a personal relationship with him early in life that strengthened and sustained him throughout his 73 years of life.
He leaves to cherish his memory: four loving sisters-Diane (Henry) Graham, Kathy (James) Snider, Sherrie (Jeffrey) Dubois, and Stacey (Brian) Woods; three devoted brothers-Mark L. Stanford, David B. Stanford, and Kevin S. Stanford; and five cherished aunts-Betty Willis Wallace, JoAnne Willis, Patricia Stanford, Delores (Gus) Stanford-Lawson and Kay Willis. His aunts provided love, wisdom, prayer, and guidance; His children – Margo Dozier, Waynette (Steven)Allen, Omar Dean, T'Kee'Yah Cambridge; His "Bonus" children whom he helped rear- LaRyssa Martin, Kiesha Martin, Victor Martin, and Vernon Martin. All his children were a source of pride and joy, and he kept them all close to his heart. The family would like to give "Special Acknowledgement" to LaRyssa Martin(Bonus Daughter) who stood by his side with unwavering love and support through his later years, brief illness, and final transition, for which the family is eternally grateful.
