Marvin Wayne Stringfellow

SPRING GLEN, UT/LAKE HAVASU, AZ- Marvin Wayne Stringfellow, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed from this life on Saturday, November 22, 2025, with his wife and children by his side. He was a former resident of Spring Glen, Utah.

Wayne was born June 15, 1947, to Marvin Darrell Stringfellow and Leona Maxine Parker. He received his education in the Provo City schools in Provo, Utah. Wayne was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Clayton on July 17, 1969, in Provo, Utah. The couple were later sealed in marriage in the Manti LDS Temple. Their children are Jon Stringfellow and Tricia Madill of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Teresa Guillen Evans of Surprise, Arizona. His hobby came at an early age which was going with his father and grandfather to the West Desert of Utah prospecting for gold and "... looking for just the special rock." Though he enjoyed hunting elk, prospecting was a big joy in his life.

He served in the United States Army. Wayne was a gifted mechanic and specialized in Volkswagens and owned Waynes Buggy Barn in Spring Glen, Utah rebuilding engines, selling parts, painting, and "....all things Volkswagen." Wayne worked in the coal industry as a wash plant operator in coal mines in Utah and Rangely, Colorado from where he retired.

Upon retiring they went "snow birding" to Arizona meeting wonderful, life-long friends along the way. Eventually they sold their home in Spring Glen and moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Survivors include his wife and children; five grandchildren; three (and one on the way) great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Denise) Stringfellow of Salem, Utah; and special nieces and nephews.

Those who preceded him in death are his parents; and his sister, Barbara Ann Gibby, who passed away September 23, 2025.

Graveside Service, Tuesday, December 2, 2025, 1:00 p.m., East Lawn Cemetery (4800 Timpview Drive) in Provo, Utah. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price, Utah.
