Wayne David Stults, 76, of Fremont, passed away at Admiral’s Pointe Nursing Home in Huron, Ohio, of February 12, 2025. He was born in Fremont, Ohio, on June 20, 1948, to Clayton and Ella May (Gressman) Stults. On March 5, 1968, Wayne joined the United States Army, and earned the National Defense Service Medal and was recognized as an expert with the M-14 before receiving his honorable discharge on February 27, 1970. Following his service, he worked at Ever Ready for many years until his retirement. Wayne married Mary Lou Hoffman on September 15, 1973, and she survives.
Wayne was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont, Ohio, Fremont Eagles Aerie 712, and Fremont VFW Post #2947.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Lou Stults of Fremont; children, Mary Ann (Jamie) Chivers of Belleaire Shores, FL, Jason (Christine) Stults of Ada, OH, David Stults of Bellevue, OH; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mitchell) Scott, Michael (Sara) Clabaugh, Mekala and Carter Stults, Haley and Zoe Chivers; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Levi Scott, Jasper and Samuel Clabaugh; siblings, Barbara (Larry Bennett) Stults, Mark (Lynn) Stults, Tom (Jodi) Stults, all of Fremont, and Mike (Kim) Stults of Bellevue. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, William “Bill” Stults and Linda Cooley.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont, Ohio, 43420. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial with miliary honors will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Millersville, Ohio. For those unable to attend, live-streaming of Wayne’s services will be available by following the link provided on his obituary page.
