Mr. Wayne Vann of Colquitt, GA died on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kent Barwick officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Mother's Home Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, with members of the Miller County Fire Department serving as pallbearers. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Colquitt Funeral Home.
Mr. Vann formerly served in the Air Force and worked as a farmer. He served as a Captain at the Miller County Fire Department for nearly 30 years, where he was the officer in charge of Station 2.
He is survived by one son, Robert Gerald Vann of Colquitt, GA; one daughter, Phyllis (Paul) Salter of Colquitt, GA; two grandchildren, Shannon Wright, and Daniel Grimes; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Allen (Judy) Vann of Colquitt, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Vann; two brothers, Ronald Vann and Terry Vann; and parents, Robert and Eva Vann.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Colquitt-Miller County Fire & Rescue, at 165 E Main Street, Colquitt, GA 39837.
