Mr. Weldon Gene Vincent was born on December 13, 1954, to Marion Vincent and Katherine Thomas Vincent in the small community of Elgin, Bastrop County, Texas. He was the twin to Norma Jean Vincent.
Weldon grew up a strong Christian foundation and accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend R. A. Westbrook.
Weldon was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Elgin. He was an outstanding athlete, breaking records in Track and Field. Weldon enjoyed visiting his cousin and best friend, William Hawkins. He was a big fan of television sports, watching hours of car racing, never ending football games and his favorite, track and field. His enjoyable hobby was assembling model cars. Subsequently a knee injury caused him not to follow up on sport scholarship.
Weldon obtained work at Elgin Butler Brick Company, Austin State School, and Group home. He trained individuals with disabilities in independent living skills as well as appropriate behavior in the community.
On March 24, 2023, Weldon joined his family circle. He is at peace, in a place of joy.
