Wendell R. "Bud" Benson, age 94, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Country Terrace in Wellsboro, PA. He was born March 30, 1931 in Mansfield, PA, a son of Ralph Herbert and Dorris M. (Mudge) Benson. Bud was married to Rose Marie (Shamonski) Benson who passed away on March 29, 2020. Bud was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mansfield and the Elk Run Grange. Bud served on many boards including the Tuscarora Wayne Insurance Company, Tioga County Fair Association, Dairymen's League, and Richmond Township. He was a major contributor to the Mansfield Food Pantry.
Bud is survived by his daughters, Dena Benson of Covington, PA, Carla Jungquist of Canandaigua, NY; a stepson, Harlan Copp of Bath, NY; four grandchildren, Eric Gee Sara Herbst, Brian Jungquist, and Danielle Jungquist; and nine great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Carlyle.
In honoring Bud's wishes, there will be no services. Memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church 7 Sherwood St. Mansfield, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
