Wendell Francis Farmer, Sr. November 16, 1937 – July 18, 2024
Born on November 16, 1937 in Watertown, New York to Sarah Jennie Robinson Farmer and Woodrow Wilson Farmer. He later moved to Maryland with his mother and brother.
Wendell was hard working and ever-devoted to his family. He retired after years of service with Giant Food (Local Union 246) where he ran forklift in the dairy/distribution center. Favorite memories include the fun and laughter shared when he entertained his family with his skills at Giant’s annual truck and forklift rodeos.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan Del Grosso (and husband Michael), and is daughter-in-law, De’ann Farmer.
Wendell is predeceased by his loving wife, Judith Ann Walker Farmer, whom he married in the Summer of 1958, and his beloved son, Wendell (“Buzzy”) Farmer, Jr. He is also predeceased by both of his parents and stepfather (Donald J. Stewart), as well as his brother, Robert (“Bob”) Farmer.
He passed away peacefully in Bowie, Maryland. He is remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him as friendly, loving, kind and generous.
May there be endless bowls of butter pecan ice cream waiting for him in Heaven.
