Wendell Ray Obituary
Wendell Ronnie Ray, 80, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. He was born in Jasper, Georgia, on January 10, 1944, to the late Carlton Ray and Grace Stafford Wilkins.
Wendell is survived by his loving wife, Linda Sue Ray; son, Allan (Gail) Ray; daughter, MaryAnn Walker; brothers, Hugh (Mary) Wilkins and Wytt (Sammy) Wilkins; grandchildren, Chris Ray, Kayla (Dave) Franklin, Stephanie (Taylor) Fain, and Brandon Ray; great-grandchildren, Ridge Fain, Grant Ingram, Chloe Ray, Hayden and Colton Ray, Kaden Ray, Parker Ray, Ketron Graves, and Kayslin Franklin. He is also survived by many cousins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at New Town Baptist Church.
Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 2:00 PM from New Town Baptist Church with Rev. Brandon Bishop and Rev. Kenneth Jennings officiating. The New Town Quartet is in charge of music. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers are Don Nichols, Sammy Wyatt, Sam King, Larry Nicholson, Tim Ferguson, and Terrell Anderson. Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of New Town Baptist Church.
