Wendy D. Campanella

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Wendy D. Campanella, 82, a longtime resident of Stony Brook, New York. Wendy was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 29, 1942, in Torrington, Connecticut, Wendy was the cherished daughter of Dominick DeRuvo and Elvira Pozzi. She was a woman of selfless devotion, strength, resilience, and kindness - qualities that defined her life and inspired all who knew her. Wendy was the devoted wife of the late Dr. Joseph A. Campanella, with whom she shared 24 loving years of marriage until his passing in 1988. Together, they shared a life built on dedication, love, and a deep commitment to their family. She was a loving and dedicated mother to her three children: Dominic (Joey), Timothy, and Carrie, who were the pride and joy of her life. Wendy had a lifelong passion for cooking, and the kitchen was where her heart truly shone. She believed deeply in the power of food to bring people together. Her meals were a simple, heartfelt way of showing care and ensuring her family's well-being. Her home was always filled with the comforting aromas of her Italian dishes and the warmth of shared meals, where stories were told and lasting memories were made. To all who knew her, Wendy was a source of quiet strength and unconditional love. Her warmth, grace, and enduring kindness left a lasting impact on her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. She was not only a guiding presence to her children but also a deeply cherished grandmother and a loyal sister. Wendy is survived by her three children, Dominic (Joey), Timothy and his wife Kelly, and Carrie and her husband Joseph; her cherished grandchildren Jonathan, Nicholas and his fiancée Dana, Gianna, A.J., Charlotte, and Lila; her sister Bertha; and a loving extended family and many dear friends.
