Wendy Carter, born July 22, 1963, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at her residence after a long and courageous battle with illness. Wendy was also saved by the grace of God, a faith that gave her strength and comfort throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willie; her mother, Jeannette; her sister, Linda; her brothers, Randy and Bobby; her son, David; and her beloved grandson, Andrew.

Wendy is survived by her loving spouse, Gene Carter; her daughter, Jenny Harrison, and son-in-law, Trey Harrison; her son, Jason Atkins, and daughter-in-law, Dana Atkins; her daughter-in-law, Leticia Swindle; her stepdaughters, Stephanie Wheeler and Amanda Turner; her sisters, Rhonda Kempfer and Tammy Murphy; and her cherished grandchildren, Keeley Harrison, Zoe Harrison, Alexis Swindle, and Quinton Cherry.

Wendy will be remembered for her strength, faith, and deep love for her family. Her presence and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

In accordance with Wendy's wishes, the family has chosen cremation. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

If you would like to donate toward funeral expenses, donations may be made to Woodard Funeral Home.

The family has entrusted Woodard Funeral Home with the care of their loved one. "Serving you as we would like to be served."
