Wendy Ciarletta Obituary
Lynn - Wendy (Hicks) Ciarletta passed away on Thursday, December 22nd at the age of 81 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She and her husband Paul shared sixty-three years of marriage.
She was brought up in Saugus and attended the Saugus school system. During the time she attended Saugus High School, she was a member of several high school clubs.
Wendy was an active Bible reader and was a member of the Lynn Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. After marriage, she and her husband Paul engaged in public witnessing for a number of years in Lynn before being asked to go to the Town of Arlington to help grow new interest in that area. They helped to build a new Kingdom Hall there and, after six years, they returned to Lynn and helped in the Saugus area in their Bible education work.
After moving to Marblehead, in addition to her Bible studies, Wendy went to work part-time at Truffles, a boutique food store where one of her desert recipes was featured in the cook book, Carry Out Cuisine, published in 1986. After leaving that shop, she was asked to work part-time at Oramas, a women's clothing and accessories store in town, where she worked for about 10 years. She had many friends in Marblehead. After leaving Marblehead and returning to Lynn, they were active in the West Lynn Congregation for a number of years.
Wendy is predeceased by her parents, Warren and Ruth (Smith) Hicks; her brothers, Norman and his wife Murial and Lee and sister-in-law, Diane. She leaves her sister, Janice Bain and nephew Bruce Bain of Berwick, Maine.
She is greatly missed by all of her friends and neighbors at Kings Beach Towers, who had great respect for her and were very kind and helpful at all times.
She and her husband wish to thank Care Dimensions of Danvers for the professional and kind personal help during her illness. Her care team of Annie, Bob and Rebecca were in constant touch for any problem.
