Wendy Marie Jacot of Caro, age 59, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. Wendy was born November 5, 1965 in Caro, the daughter of the late Gerald and Mary Ann (Lokken) Brown. She graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1983 and went on to receive her bachelor's degree in social work from Saginaw Valley State University. On September 27, 1997, Wendy married the love of her life, David Lee Jacot at the Caro United Methodist Church. Together they shared over thirty years, raised two wonderful sons, and had many cherished memories, especially at the racetrack. Wendy kept score at many racing events and was known for her competitive spirit – she never came to lose.
Wendy began her career at the Human Development Commission in September 1990, where she dedicated 34 years to serving her community. Holding various positions over the years, she most recently served as Communication Fundraising Manager. Wendy's contributions to her community were boundless. She played a key role in organizing the Pumpkin Festival for many years, served on the Caro School Board, and was a member of the Caro Chamber of Commerce, where she earned the 2019 Caro Chamber of Commerce Merit Award. While her sons were growing up, Wendy volunteered with the American Youth Soccer Organization, the Lions Club Basketball Association, and served as a leader for Matthew's Boy Scout troop.
Known for her extraordinary talents in crafting and event planning, Wendy could transform simple ideas into stunning realities. Her creative flair and meticulous attention to detail earned her the affectionate title of "Martha Stewart" among her sisters. Wendy also enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and hunting for treasures at garage sales. One of her favorite pastimes was her role as a distributor for Thirty-One, a position she held since January 2015. She loved their bags and thoroughly enjoyed sharing them with others.
Despite her many accomplishments, Wendy preferred to work behind the scenes, quietly creating magic without seeking recognition. She always put others first, lending a hand, organizing gatherings, or simply brightening someone's day with her smile and laugh. Wendy's selflessness, creativity, and devotion to her community and family leave an enduring legacy that will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
Wendy leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Matthew and Steven; siblings, Veronica (Bruce) Bridson and Rebecca Brown; nieces, Samantha (Adam) Block and Allison (Craig) Brownfield; great-nieces and great-nephews, Eve, Clayton, & Luke Block and Brooklyn & Madilyn Brownfield; and many, many special friends. In addition to her parents, Wendy was preceded in death by her husband, David.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Colwood Church in Caro with Pastor Randy Carpenter officiating. The family will be present to receive visitors on Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro and again at church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Wendy's service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family, c/o Matthew Jacot, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
