Wendy K. Shrake
Born on May 29th, 1961 in Chicago, IL passed away on November 20th, 2025 at age 64 of sudden cardiac arrest.
She was the youngest daughter of the late Richard W. and Dorothy L. (Kling) Boquist. Sister to Linda Tobsing, Grens, Sandra Papak and the late Donald. Aunt to Samantha Scheeringa, Sherry Reed the late Amanda Tobsing. And a friend to many.
Wendy was born and raised in Chicago. She was a science teacher at Leigh Elementary School for 31 years and coached girls volleyball, softball and basketball. She retired early in 2018 to become a Full Time caretaker for our mom. Mom made it to 97 1/2 because of all the TLC she received from Wendy.
Wendy loved to cook and then send you home with leftovers. She would help all those around her. Need help with your roof? Call Wendy. Need a ride? Call Wendy. Need to take down a tree? Call Wendy. She would give you the "Menards" shirt off her back, if asked. She enjoyed watching The Bachelor with her friends Dawn and Debbie. (who knew?)
Wendy enjoyed golfing when she was at her home in Crystal Falls, MI and she really liked playing tricks on her golf buddies. She would give pontoon rides around Stager Lake while playing her favorite cds.
She was a devoted mom to all her dogs but especially to her last dog Shadow. The dog that "found her".
Her leaving us so unexpectedly has left a BIG hole in our hearts.
She will be greatly missed.
