Julia Anna (Judy) Shrake, of Seymour, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, December 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 86.

Judy entered this life on January 15, 1939, in Shelbyville, Indiana. She was the daughter of Charles and Stella (Gentry) Woodruff. She attended Shelbyville Central Schools and attended dance school for ballet. She was a devoted Navy wife for a number of years, during her first marriage, calling several states home before returning to Greenfield, Indiana. After returning home, she started her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She retired after 40 years was a home health caregiver. On June 28, 1972, she united in marriage to Edward Shrake. Edward preceded Judy on September 24, 2008.

Judy was a devoted caregiver with a heart of gold. She loved animals and was a genuine friend to all creatures great or small. Her sense of humor and infectious laugh, was a hallmark of her personality, always bringing light and laughter wherever she went.

Her memories will be forever cherished by her daughters, Stephanie A. (Day) Devitt, Rhonda Sellers, Julie K. Kelly and her husband Doug, Starla D Day, and Misty (Shrake) Brown and her fiancé Scott Bloom, son, Gearen R Day, and his wife Annie, grandchildren, Anthony Devitt, Jay Day, Ryan Day, Whalen Day, Bruce R. Townsend, Jay Townsend and his wife Elizabeth, Samantha Sellers, Bernardina Luhan, Leanna Simmons and her husband Jesse, Jennifer Jacobson and her husband Shad, Richard Walda, Eric Walda and fiance Jollie Smith, and Christopher Sellers and many great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Bernice, Juanita, Betty, Gladys, and Mary, a brother, Clarence, and a grandson Teddy Day.

A celebration of Judy's life will be announced at a later date
