David Bowling Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Buchanan Funeral Home - Austin on Mar. 3, 2026.
David E. Bowling, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, left this world on March 2, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on June 16, 1960, in Seymour, Indiana, David was the beloved son of the late Cile Granville and Delphia Ann (Bradley) Bowling.

David made his home in Scottsburg, Indiana, where he shared a life full of love and laughter with his wife, Melissa (Palmer) Bowling. David's commitment to his family was unwavering, and he took immense joy in the accomplishments and happiness of his children. He was a proud father to three sons, Jami (Josie) Bowling, Jordan (Tiffany) Bowling, and Justin (April) Bowling and 5 grandchildren, Trevor, Honor, Kennedy, Jackson, and Dru.

Known for his affable nature, David never met a stranger. He had the rare ability to make everyone feel like a friend, and his absence will leave a void in the hearts of many. His sisters, Sandra Bowling and Joan (Bob) Wagner, along with his sister-in-laws Sherry (Rick) Lawless and Georganna Elliott, and brother-in-law Robbie (Debbie) Palmer.

David's professional life was spent at Dorel Juvenile Group in Columbus, Indiana. Outside of work, he was an enthusiastic sports fan, cheering passionately for the University of Kentucky and the Cincinnati Reds. His love for sports was only eclipsed by his love for his family, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

David's life will be celebrated on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin, Indiana. Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects during visitation hours from 4 to 8 pm on Friday and after 11 am on Saturday at the funeral home. His final resting place will be at New Providence Cemetery in Austin, Indiana, where he will be laid to rest in peace.
