Wesley Duey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home - Abilene from Mar. 26 to Mar. 27, 2026.
Wesley Ray Duey, 40, of Abilene, Kansas, passed away on March 25, 2026. Wesley was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend whose quiet strength and gentle spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Wesley is survived by his beloved wife, Mary, and their two daughters, Addison and Sophia, who were the center of his world. He was the proudest and most loyal father, a steady and loving presence whose greatest joy was his family. Whether on family vacations, at home, or cheering from the sidelines, Wesley's love for his girls was unwavering and deeply felt.

He is also survived by his parents, Kim and Bart Wickersham; his brothers, Dustin Duey (Michelle) and Ryan Duey (Amy); his sister, Keysha Chaney (Shawn); his grandmothers, Donna Anderson and Rosemary Wickersham; his brother-in-law, Jeremy McGarity; his in-laws, Randy and Barbara Leckron; his sister-in-law, Sarah Panchal (Prem); along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

Wesley dedicated his professional life to serving others as a Doctor of Chiropractic for the VA and as a volunteer firefighter in Abilene, where his compassion, intelligence, and commitment to helping others brought comfort and healing to many. His patients and colleagues knew him as kind, thoughtful, and dedicated in his work.

Those who knew Wesley will remember him as intentional-the most gentle and calm soul-gracious, humble, and always willing to help. He had a quiet way of making others feel seen and cared for. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life: crafting the perfect cup of coffee, enjoying a good glass of bourbon, cheering on the Denver Broncos and K-State Wildcats, hunting, fishing, and pushing himself physically through running marathons and triathlons.

Above all, Wesley was a man of deep love, integrity, and selflessness-the kind of person who showed up, gave freely, and made the world better simply by being in it. He will be remembered as a truly great man, and his legacy will live on through the family he adored and the many lives he touched.

Wesley will be deeply missed and forever loved.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial fund for Wes' daughters at First Bank Kansas.

Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Abilene, KS, on Tuesday, March 31st, at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at the Abilene Cemetery.
