On Thursday November 16, 2023 surrounded by his beloved wife Traci, their parents and his siblings, Jesus took Wes' hand. Peacefully and quietly Wes was completely healed and escorted across heaven's finish line by a cloud of witnesses cheering for him.

In 41 short years Wes' impact upon family and friends has been greater than that of much older men. Wes wrote his own obituary through words and memories created with family and friends. Described by those who know him best, Wes is a "friend", a "selfless person, always putting others before himself", a "speaker of truth", a "light in the world", "authentic and without pretense", "opinionated at times but only because he was passionate about what he believed in", "non-judgmental of others" and someone who demonstrated Christ's command to love each other.

Never impressed by the world's status symbols, Wes focused his eyes and efforts on God and those things that live beyond mere mortality. He had the hard conversations to point others to Christ, always leaving them with no doubts that he loved them and so does Jesus. He showed up for others during heartache and troubled times to reassure them they mattered and he cared. If you asked Wes what was his life's greatest accomplishment he would tell you it was choosing Traci Green as his life partner. The life role that he was most proud of and enjoyed the most is Dad to Jase and Abbi. Who had the greatest influence on this life? His Dad, Rick and his Mom, Doris. And what position of power did he enjoy (and abuse) the most? Big brother to his siblings.

From an early age Wes seized life with zest and gusto ----exceling in sports, achieving legendary status on the wakeboard and managing to demonstrate all things you shouldn't do and expect to survive while driving a jeep.

If Heaven's rewards are based upon our representing Christ's character and love to others, then the angels are working hard on a big trophy case for Wes. But we who know him, know that doesn't matter to Wes. He is too busy greeting new friends, catching up with family members and going in for a big bear hug as he says "Hey, buddy!"

The family would like to extend our very deepest gratitude for all you have done for Wes and family to our friends, employers, church members, our community, Hospice of West Alabama and the doctors, nurses and staff of the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB in Birmingham, Al.

In lieu of flowers, the family humbly request your consideration of either donating to The Jase and Abbi Harbin College Fund Account at Bryant Bank or Rumpshakers, Inc. - a nonprofit that benefits the victims and families of colorectal cancer. www.rumpshakerinc.org

Wes is survived by his wife Traci, son Jase and daughter Abbi; his parents Rick and Doris Harbin, his parents-in-law Terry and Jeanean Green; siblings Blake (Miranda), Priscilla (Reid) Robertson and Pete Harbin and Traci's sisters Lori (Jeremy) Reed and Lisa (Bobby) Kemp. Wes leaves a host of nieces and nephews who adore him.

Visitation for friends and family will be Sunday evening, November 19 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Capstone Church. The family invites friends to join them for a A Celebration of Life Service for Wes on Monday November 20 at 4:00 pm at Capstone Church. Capstone Church is located at 4115 Watermelon Road, Northport AL.
