Services for Wesley Leon "Chip" Reeves Jr. 61, of Nacogdoches, will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday October 15, 2022 at Laird Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Brewer officiating. Interment will follow at Bennett Cemetery is Apple Springs, Texas. Visitation will be held at Laird Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 14, 2022.
Wesley Leon "Chip" Reeves Jr. passed away Tuesday, 27 September 2022, in Plano, Texas at the age of 61. Chip was born March 5th, 1961, in Sacramento, CA to Wesley Leon Reeves Sr.(deceased) and Patricia Lee Myers. As a child growing up as a military brat, he was always into scouting & loved designing & building his car each year for the Piney woods derby. As an Air Force brat, he lived in California, Louisiana, Alaska and Texas where he graduated high school in Nacogdoches class of 1980. In Nacogdoches, he was a member of Civil Air patrol. He enlisted in the Air Force the fall of 1980, serving nearly 6 years active duty in the Air Force. Over 15 years in the reserves retiring in 2010. Received the Air Force Achievement, the National Defense Service medals, while serving in Iraq as well as the Air Force Reserve medal on retirement.
Chip was a highly skilled machinist. He received a degree and several certifications as machinist in the Air Force. He was born color blind but worked flawlessly for electric company in high school, never a wiring mistake. However, ASVAB testing exposed his secret, so he had to join AF as a machinist. A talented artist as a teen, he created blueprints for a neighbor's home, designed & manufactured a special metal housing to support laser usage on one of AF planes. He could design & make anything he put his mind to. He loved Car Shows, working on old cars, reading magazines (while still in store) and traveling all over the world.
Chip married Catholic, to Cindy (Kaiser) Reeves in 1986 Jeff City, MO. They have 4 children and 4 grandchildren Although they divorced in 2008, she remains a devoted & forever included Reeves family member, Mother and Grandmother of his children.
Chip was loved by all his family, and they pray he now rests in peace after suffering from a long-term debilitating illness.
He is survived by his daughters Kayla Reeves & Melissa (Reeves) Peterson (husband DJ), son Austin Reeves & daughter Emily Reeves. Grandchildren Madelyn, Donald Jr., Charlotte and Michael Peterson.
Siblings sister Brenda (Reeves) Brandon, brother Michael Reeves (wife Tanya). Brother John Reeves (deceased). Nephews Chasen Brandon, Travis (wife Brittany) Reeves, Tanner Reeves, Niece Hannah Reeves. Great Nephews Luke & Lincoln Reeves (deceased) niece & nephew Amber & Scott Brandon.
Aunts & uncles Jeanne & Robin George, John & Judy Myers, Susan & Mel Masuen. (deceased) Oren Reeves, Marian (Reeves) & Jimmy Carlisle. Grandparents (deceased) Dewey & Ada (Kee) Reeves, Russell & Jeanette (Seiker) Myers.
Cousins Teri & Mark Ehl, Debbie Drew, Charles & Patricia Morris, Jenny Myers, Jeff Myers & Jeremy Spindler, Kerrie & Rodney Risner, Amanda Masuen, Chris Masuen. (deceased)Tammy Bush. He's also survived by a number of extended family and friends.
