Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holland Funeral Service & Crematory - Monroe on Jul. 4, 2025.
Weston Parker von Egidy went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at the age of 30. He was born on March 29, 1995 in
Monroe, NC and was the son of Wesley and Cheryle von Egidy.
Parker was a gifted athlete from an early age. He excelled in all sports but it was in middle school where he developed his love for wrestling. Through hardwork and dedication, he won multiple state championships, was a 7x All American, a National Championship runner up and became a National Champion his senior year. He graduated from Piedmont High School in 2013 and received a wrestling scholarship to the University of Missouri. He transferred to West Virginia University in 2014. Parker graduated in 2018 with a degree in Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Business.
After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. He attended basic training at Fort Benning in Georgia and then underwent two years of Special Forces Training at Fort Bragg, in NC. Most recently, he was working in residential construction and planned to obtain his general contractor license.
Parker was a leader and coach for the next generation of wrestlers. He had a bright smile that was often paired with an infectious laugh. His compassion was quiet, constant, and never for credit. He had a gift of placing his loved ones' needs before his own. It wasn't just something he did-it was who he was at his core. He was joyful, quick-witted, selfless, compassionate, and had no problem laughing at himself. He also enjoyed reading books, spending time with his dogs, and occasional horseback riding. Parker had a strong sense of loyalty to his family and friends, and he dreamed of one day moving back to his family's farm.
Parker was preceded in death by his grandfather, Buddy Parker, his uncle, Matthew von Egidy, and his cousins, Phillip Cline and Karsyn von Egidy.
He is survived by his parents, Wesley and Cheryle, as well as his brother, Cory von Egidy. He will be missed by his large extended family: his grandparents, Dennis and Angela von Egidy and Doris (Harry) Parker Mills; his uncles, Jeffrey Lee (Edie) Parker, Andrew Parker, Wade (Dawn) von Egidy, James von Egidy, and Dennis (Traci) von Egidy; his aunt, Sharon (Bill) Johnson; his great aunts and uncles, Ann Cline, David Chatham, Brooks Huggins, and Becky Hubbard; his many cousins, Alexan (Tylor) Woodard, Kendal Parker, CPT. A visitation with the family will be on July 11th, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 08:00 PM and the service will be on July 12th, 2025 at 02:00 PM Both will be held at Lakeview Baptist Church - 4602 Concord Hwy,

Parker's dream was to give back to the community that shaped him. He envisioned building a facility in honor of a beloved coach. This space would serve as a place of mentorship, growth, and opportunity for future wrestlers and athletes at the school that gave him so much.
