WEYMETH HARRISON Obituary

WEYMETH L. HARRISON Weymeth L. "W.L." Harrison, 88, died October 12, 2025, at Hospice House - Hutchinson. He was born December 1, 1936, on the family farm in rural Pratt County, to Henry E. and Opal E. (Henry) Harrison. Weymeth graduated from Byers High School in 1954. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Education Degree from Fort Hays State University, Masters from Emporia State University and his Specialist Degree from Wichita State University. Weymeth, or as some knew him, W.L., was a middle school science teacher and later became the principal for Geneseo K-12. He loved farming. In 1972 he left education to go back to work on the family farm near Pratt, KS. He farmed until he retired. On August 13, 1961, he married Carol Elizabeth Parsons in Greeley, CO. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage. After retiring from farming, they liked traveling in their RV and visiting their relatives in Colorado. He enjoyed being outside doing yard work and drinking his daily morning coffee with friends. Weymeth is survived by: his wife; nephew, Jeff Carlson; and niece, Julie Williamson. He is preceded in death by: his parents; and brother, Edd Harrison. Cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time. Memorials are suggested to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter in care of, Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
