Whitfield Richardson Sr.

Whitfield "Bo, Fern, Big Whit" Richardson, Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully entered eternal rest at his home on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the age of 73.

Born on March 20, 1952, in Washington, D.C., he was the cherished son of the late Lawrence and Pearline Richardson. Whitfield grew up in a close-knit and loving family and attended Fairmount Heights School.

On June 13, 1981, he married the love of his life, Angie Yvette Richardson. Together, they built a strong and beautiful family, creating a legacy grounded in love, devotion, and faith. They shared 43 years of marriage until Angie's passing in October 2024.

Whitfield was a devoted father to his two children, Whitfield Richardson, Jr. (born November 1982) and Whitney Richardson (born June 1992). His greatest joy in life was being "Pop Pop" to his beloved grandchildren: Neriah, Nylah (preceded him in death), Makari, Eziah, and Mekai. He spent countless hours playing with them, cheering them on, and countless hours of FaceTime visits and phone calls.

A hardworking and dedicated man, Whitfield devoted over 10 years to Galax Entertainment Concepts and more than 20 years serving with the Carroll County Board of Supervisors. He was deeply respected for his work ethic, dependability, and commitment to his community.

Outside of work, Whitfield's passions centered around family and sports. He loved watching and talking sports, and his happiest moments were found in the simple joys of being surrounded by his children and grandchildren. To his family, his greatest achievement was not found in career accolades but in the unwavering love and support he gave as a husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Whitfield, Jr. (Ikeshia), and Whitney; his grandchildren, Neriah, Makari, and Eziah, and his siblings: Randolph, Joyce, Bobby, Leroy, Lawrence "Booley," and Jackie. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives, and dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and strength.

Whitfield is preceded in death by his wife, Angie, his parents, Lawrence and Pearline Richardson, and his precious granddaughter, Nylah.

Those who knew him will remember Whitfield as a loving, devoted husband and father, a doting grandfather, a strong and steady presence for his family, and a man who lived his life centered on love and commitment. His legacy is a life well-lived and a family who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at High Country Services beginning at 4:00pm with Min. Dionne Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services from 3:00pm until 4:00pm. Burial will follow in the Oldtown Cemetery.

The care of Mr. Richardson has been entrusted to High Country Services.
