Whitney E. Andersen, age 30, of Blue Rapids, passed away in an automobile accident on Sunday, July 21, 2019.
Whitney was born April 17, 1989, at Manhattan to Gail L. and Julie A. (Warders) Andersen.
She graduated from Valley Heights High School in 2007 and from Crum’s Beauty School in 2008. Whitney knew from an early age that she wanted to be a beautician and she was fixing her sister’s and friend’s hair. She fulfilled that desire opening Whitney’s Hair and Tanning Salon in 2009.
To Whitney, family was most important to her. She loved spending time with her grandparents, time with her nieces and nephew, especially fixing their hair and polishing their nails and helping her dad on the farm. Her two “Big G’s” were her dad Gail and Greg and her two favorite men were her dad and brother Garrett. Whitney was an amazing cook, she was always trying out new recipes. She also loved to go “country crusin”, just driving around looking at what was there.
Survivors include her parents, Julie and Gail Andersen of Waterville, her maternal grandparents, Beth and Gary Warders of Waterville, three sisters: Kristen (Darin) Bigham of Blue Rapids, Nina (Kris) Beals of Abilene, Samantha (Ryan) Castelic of DePere, Wisconsin and Garrett Andersen of Waterville, and her nieces and nephew.
Preceding in death were her paternal grandparents, Glen and Lois Andersen.
Viewing is from noon to 8:00 pm, Thursday, with visitation between 6:00 and 8:00 pm, at Terry-Christie Funeral Home in Waterville. Funeral services are at 10:30 am, Friday, July 26, 2019, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Waterville with Sister Mary Arie officiating. Music is to include a congregational hymn of “In The Garden”, Kim Oatney will be the organist. A pre-recorded selections of “When I Die Young” and “Go Rest High On That Mountain” will be played. Casket Bearers are: Garrett Andersen, Kris Beals, Ryan Castelic, Darin Bigham, Mike Warders and Don Joseph. Honorary Bearers are Kaison Bigham and Greg Anderson. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Waterville.
Memorials are suggested to the Whitney Andersen Memorial, to be designated later and may be sent in care of Terry-Christie Funeral Home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
