A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Whitney Gerac, Jr., 64, at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Saint Edward Roman Catholic Church (175 Ambassador West Lemelle Drive) with Rev. John Okebule, Celebrant.

He will await the resurrection in the Mausoleum of Nativity of Our Lady in New Iberia, LA.

The visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Saint Edward Roman Catholic Church beginning at 8:00 A.M. until 9:45 A.M. with a rosary to be recited at 9:00 A.M.

Mr. Whitney Gerac, Jr. was a resident of New Iberia, LA. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 29, 2025, at 11:19 P.M. at his residence.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Peggy Lewis Gerac of New Iberia, LA; one sister, Belinda G. Butler of New Iberia, LA; one brother, Wilkie Gerac, Sr. (Linda) of New Iberia, LA; one aunt, Laura Ann Lewis of New Iberia, LA; one uncle, Michael Lewis of New Iberia, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Whitney Gerac, Sr.; one sister, Jackelyn Gerac Dudley; one brother, Wendell Gerac; maternal grandparents, Emery "Wing" Lewis and Mardell Johnson Lewis; paternal grandfather, Wilkie T. Gerac.

Active Pallbearers will be Adlai F. Lewis, Dwayne Butler, Leroy "Pop" Lewis, Jr., Blake Rogers Coston, James Ohamuo, Edwin Butler and Wilkie Gerac.
