Wilber Earl Boyd Jr., age 32, passed away suddenly on November 23, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Wilber’s memory, Monday, December 8, 2025 at 1pm at St. John Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Sunday, December 7, 2025 from 3pm to 5pm at Griffin Mortuary where family and friends will gather to share stories, love, and remembrance of the extraordinary man he was.
Wilber’s time with us was far too short, but the impact of his loving presence will remain forever. He was born on January 28, 1993, and was a loving father, son, brother, and friend whose gentle spirit touched everyone who knew him. He graduated from Cooper High School.
Wilber was known for his humble heart, peaceful nature, and the quiet strength he carried through life. He never sought confrontation, always choosing kindness and patience. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially the mountains and waters of Alaska, where he found joy and calm in fishing—his favorite place to escape and feel free. A talented cook, Wilber could turn the simplest meal into something memorable, and he shared his gifts generously with family and friends.
He leaves behind beautiful memories filled with laughter, warmth, and the steady love he gave to those around him. Above all, Wilber was a devoted father, and his greatest pride in life was his child, who was the light of his world. His love for family was endless, and he will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Wilber is survived by his child Tiana Kay Boyd, significant other Tari Tucker, his parents, Wilber Earl Boyd Sr. & Yolanda Kay Boyd his siblings, Xavier Boyd, Jacqulyn Boyd, Elizabeth Boyd, Alizay Boyd, Tania Padron, and many, many foster siblings, other relatives and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
