Wilburn F. Kuehl (Willie), 97, of Waco, TX passed away August 2, 2024, in Temple, Tx. A memorial visitation will be Wednesday, August 7, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, from 5-6:00pm, with a service following at 6 pm, officiated by Rev. Kevin Lentz. Military honors will be at 6:30.
Willie was born on November 9, 1926, to Will & Elsie (Fedro) Kuehl in Perry, TX. He grew up in Perry, Tx and served in the Army during World War II. He married the love of his life, Ruth (Haug)Kuehl on June 25, 1949. They were blessed with two children, Vickie Homeyer (husband Dwayne) and Kelly Kuehl (wife Joy). He leaves behind a grandson, Rich Auth, a great grandson, Reise Auth, a step-grandson, Clayton Homeyer(wife Victoria) and two step great granddaughters , Elizabeth and Hanna) and his only surviving sister, Lorean Pulley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth and his sister, Jane Koester.
He started out farming and decided that wasn’t going to work so he became a home builder. He built a lot of beautiful homes and had several people that came to him to build them another one. He was a huge NASCAR fan and Baylor Bear fan. He and Ruth loved making road trips and loved going to Branson. He loved gardening and his scratch off tickets. He was dearly loved by many friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Wilburn's name to Trinity at Badger Ranch, 2 Ritchie Rd, Woodway, TX 76712.
