Wilda Henriquez was born on December 12, 1939, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to loving parents William Henriquez andIgnés Lefèvre. From an early age, she was known for her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and dedication to her family. She began her education at Fernande Lorenseau Elementary School, continued her studies at Lycée des Jeune Filles, and completed her education at Immaculée Conception in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Her schooling helped shape her into a woman of strength, intelligence, and grace.
In 1986, Wilda courageously migrated to the United States, building a new life filled with love, faith, and dedication to her family. Known for her radiant spirit and independence, Wilda was the backbone and glue of her family-always working hard, offering comfort, and keeping her home full of love and order.
A woman of many talents, she was a gifted dressmaker who loved fashion, jewelry, and perfume. Her creativity and keen eye for detail showed in everything she did, from sewing to tending her beautiful backyard. Wilda took great pride in her home, which was always welcoming to her siblings and loved ones. She found joy in simple pleasures-chatting on the phone with family, watching her favorite TV shows, or enjoying peppermint candies, Lorna Doone cookies, and a refreshing Coca-Cola. Even in her quiet moments, she was never alone; her days were filled with prayer, gratitude, and the comforting presence of God. A devoted member of her church, Wilda's faith was her anchor. She began each day in prayer, often reading her Bible and live-streaming Sunday services.
Wilda is survived by her beloved children: Myrlene Lebrun, Nirva Ali, Lydie Lebrun, Magalie Pamphile, Majorie Nicholas, and Claire Fleurmont; her grandchildren: Faedra Bastien, Soraya Augustin, Carol Bastien, Nile Pamphile, Francesca Destine, Ania Nicholas, Joshua Fleurmont, Melissa Nicholas, and Sebastian Fleurmont; and her great-grandchildren: Luna Colon, Aeiryss Mitchell, and Prince Jeremiah Colon.
She is also survived by her siblings: Wilner Henriquez, Marianne Henriquez, Maryse Dominique, Frederick Henriquez, Joseph Henriquez, and Marie Ange Henriquez.
She is lovingly remembered by her many grandnieces and grandnephews, including Joel Henriquez, Esther Henriquez, Ruth Henriquez, Phillip Dominique, Terry Henriquez, Terrance Henriquez, Kendrick Henriquez, Marline Defense-Georges, Guy Berthon Defense Jr., Gail Spady, Stanley Henriquez, Madgruge Miller, andNatasha Joseph.
Wilda follows her devoted sister, Eugenie Dorante, into God's eternal embrace.
Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love beyond measure.
