Charlotte Feeney Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Charlotte Feeney, 74, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, at Serenity Hospice in Hamilton, New Jersey.
Beloved wife of Michael Feeney, cherished mother to Allison Kupfrian (Kenneth) and Ryan Feeney (Mary Lynn), and devoted grandmother to Paige, Hailey, Jack, and Luke. She was the loving daughter of the late Charles and Alice Mercuri, and sister to the late Alfred Mercuri and Charles Mercuri Jr. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Kenneth Feeney (Susan); sisters-in-law Barbara Jaeger (Michael), Amy Feeney (late), and the late Janice Salomone (late Robert); as well as nieces and nephews Torry, Kyle (late), Kelsey, Tyler, Melissa, Matthew, and grandnephews Koa and Oliver.
Charlotte always had a passion for nursing, a calling that defined her life's work. After graduating from West Essex Regional High School in 1969, she began her nursing education at Clara Maass School of Nursing before transferring to the Saint Barnabas Medical Center Nursing Program. That same year, she married the love of her life, Michael.
After the birth of their two children and a move to Lopatcong Township in 1978, Charlotte began managing the Planned Parenthood System in Easton, PA, while also working part-time at Saint Luke's Medical Center in Bethlehem in the OBGYN unit. In 1987, after relocating to Hillsborough, NJ, she returned to full-time nursing at the Medical Center at Princeton, where she became unit supervisor and later the unit manager of the OBGYN department.
During her tenure, she founded and operated a successful childbirth education clinic, serving local doctors, friends, and family - including her own children and their friends. In 2005, she brought her experience and compassion to the Central New Jersey Family Health Consortium, where she developed programs and offered counseling for childbirth education and postpartum depression. She retired in 2019, leaving behind a legacy of care and advocacy for women's health.
Outside of her professional life, Charlotte adored her family, found joy in every beach she visited, and held a lifelong devotion to Barry Manilow - attending more than 50 of his concerts, including a recent performance in Las Vegas.
The Feeney home was always a warm, welcoming place where friends felt like family, and Charlotte was at the heart of it all. She was an amazing cook and hostess, and had a gift for making everyone feel at home. She was immensely kind, funny, and endlessly supportive. She loved deeply, laughed often, and touched countless lives with her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering generosity. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619.
