Wilda Resinger Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by William D. Elkin Funeral Home - North East on Jun. 21, 2025.
Wilda (Kimball) Resinger, 96, of Findley Lake, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Barnabas Court.
Born on December 18, 1928, in Wattsburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Myron J. and E. Ruth (Thornton) Kimball. A proud graduate of Wattsburg High School, Class of 1946, Wilda went on to serve her community with dedication as a United States Postal Clerk and Postmaster at the Findley Lake Post Office for 33 years (1956–1989).
Wilda was a woman of remarkable energy and spirit. An avid golfer, she not only enjoyed the game but also served as a golf starter at Peek'n Peak Resort for several years. She had a deep love for birds and nature, and her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious aromas of her cooking. Hosting family gatherings was one of her greatest joys, and she created countless cherished memories around her tables.
She was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Harborcreek, a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a former Cub Scout leader. Wilda was also a fierce supporter of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending their extracurricular activities well into her 90s. Her presence was a constant source of encouragement and pride.
Wilda had a lifelong love of learning and a deep curiosity about her roots. She became a skilled researcher of family history, using Ancestry.com and other tools to trace generations of her lineage. A true tech-savvy spirit, she embraced technology with enthusiasm and left behind a rich portfolio of genealogical research that her family will treasure and build upon for years to come.
Wilda was a force to be reckoned with-strong, direct, and full of life. Those fortunate enough to know her were truly better for it.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Harold S. Resinger, whom she married on February 26, 1949; her brother, Burton Kimball; her sister, Freda Ceranowicz; and her brother-in-law, Clem Ceranowicz.
She is survived by her sons, Larry Resinger (Susan) and Richard Resinger (Cathy); her grandchildren, Jennifer Cirrito (Jamie) and Andrew Resinger (Lea); and her great-grandchildren, Maddox, Navy, Paxton, Kendall, and Lauren.
She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Ruby Kimball; nieces Judy Good and Lesa Kimball; and nephew Ben Kimball.
Wilda is lovingly remembered by John Park (Dawn) and their children, Abbi, Jack, Nathan, and Sydney; and Melissa Shearer (Chris) and their children, Cole and Chase.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Barnabas Court, who became like family to Wilda over the past several years. Their compassion, care, and companionship were a true blessing, and their presence brought comfort and joy to her life.
