Wilda Charlene was born on February 14, 1952, in Alexandria, Louisiana. She was one of five born to Willia Mae and Joe Nathan Wilda was amazing sister to Joe Calvin, Marvin Ray, Cynthia Sue, and Michael Terry.

She carried with her the values of kindness, perseverance, and generosity. She was devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend to many. Whether through a warm meal, a listening ear, or a gentle word, she had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued.

Wilda Charlene graduated from Worthing High School in 1971 amd latter attend Southern Business and Technology Institution, where she received he degree. Bookkeeping and an associate degree in accounting in 1973. After finishing school, Wilda briefly worked at MD Anderson Hospital. She later became a valued asset to HISD for 30 years, retiring there.

Wilda Charlene devoted her entire life showing unwavering support to anyone she encountered. She was a woman of grace,strength, and boundless compassion. She devoted her life to nurturing her family, uplifting those around her, and finding beauty in life's simplest moments. Her laughter could fill a room, her wisdom could calm any storm, and her love knew no limits.

He greatest joy was her family. She took pride in every milestone, celebrated every success, and offered unwavering support through every challenge. Her legacy lives on in the heart of her child, Chonda Dunn; her grandchildren, Adrain L. Thompson Jr. and Chelsie D. Mathews; and all who were blessed to know her.

We will remember her for the way she made the world dofter, brighter, and kinder. Through our hearts aches, we find comfort in knowing her love will forever guide us.

Wilda Charlene passed away on January 30, 2026; peacefully, surrounded by family. SHe was preceded in death by her mother and father, Willia Mae and Joe Nathan WIlson; her brother, JOe Calvin; her sister, Cynthia Garrett; and her best friend; Ruth Johnson,

Shwe leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Chonda Dunn; her play daughter, SHelonda Wilson, Carrie (Joe) Monroe, and Jonniece (Kevin) Scott; her grandchildren, Adrian L. Thompson and Chelsie D. Mathews; and her play grandchildren, Tiffany Johnson, Joniyah Scott, and Zyrie Marie Ve'an. Her brothers, Marvin WIlson (ruth), Michael Wilson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
