Wiley Lee Thompson, a devoted husband, loving father, and esteemed member of the Port Aransas community, passed away on October 30, 2024, at the age of 75. His legacy of passion for hunting and fishing, traveling, professional success, and cherished family bonds will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Born on March 4, 1949, Wiley Lee Thompson's life was a testament to hard work and dedication. Starting at the young age of 13. He embarked on a lifelong journey with Fox and Jacobs homes, tirelessly climbing the corporate ladder until he achieved the prestigious title of Division President. His commitment to his work was exemplary, and his contributions to the industry were unparalleled.
In his leisure time, Lee found solace in the great outdoors, particularly in the thrill of hunting. His love for deer hunting was unmatched, and he reveled in the beauty of the hunt. His retirement trip to an African safari was a crowning achievement, where he accomplished harvesting several species including that of a record sized crocodile. This trophy now resides at The Gaff in Port Aransas, a constant reminder of his adventurous spirit and remarkable experiences.
Lee will forever be remembered by his beloved wife of over 35 years, Lisa Thompson, his brother Larry Thompson, his devoted son Stephen L. Thompson and daughter-in-law Melissa, his cherished grandchildren, Tiffany A. Thompson and Tanner D. Thompson and grand daughter-in-law Brittany, great-grandchildren, Jensen B. Thompson and Ashton C. Thompson along with numerous nieces and nephews. His impact on their lives will endure through the memories they shared and the values he instilled in them.
With his passing, Lee now rests in peace alongside his son, Bryan D. Thompson; siblings Geneva, Opel, Bill, and Virgil; parents, Jesse and Minnie Thompson . While his physical presence may be gone, his spirit will forever dwell within the hearts of those who cherished him.
A celebration of life of Wiley Lee Thompson will be held on December 7, 2024, at 2p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas where friends and family will gather to honor his memory and legacy. His profound influence on those around him will be fondly recalled, as stories of his remarkable adventures, generosity and kindness are shared.
In his passing, Lee leaves behind a rich tapestry of experiences and a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his presence, a reminder of the enduring impact one soul can have on the world. Rest in peace, Wiley Lee Thompson, as your journey continues into the infinite beyond.
