Wilfred Lambert Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home - Braintree on Mar. 25, 2025.
Our family is so very sad to announce the passing of our Dad.
Wilfred J. Lambert, known affectionately as "Billy" to his friends and family, passed away on March 23, 2025, at the age of 87. He was born on June 4, 1937, in the South End of Boston, where he spent his childhood before moving to Biddeford, Maine. It was there that he met his beloved wife, Muriel (Horsfield) Lambert, who predeceased him after a loving marriage that began in 1959.
Our father, our hero, our force. The man who never stopped giving not only to his family but many others. He had a way of making all feel very special. His little sayings and inventions will forever live on in his family and many more.
Professionally, Wilfred was one of the co-founders of Lambert's Rainbow Fruit, a business that grew into a beloved landmark under his guidance. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his work were matched only by his commitment to his community and the many lives he touched through his involvement in various associations.
Wilfred was the cherished son of Blanche and George Lambert and a loving father to his children: Carole Lambert and her partner Bo Queeney of Hull; William Lambert and his wife Kathleen of Hanover; Sandra Lambert and her partner Mike Cramer of Duxbury; Michelle Logan and her husband Greg of Kingston; Daniel Lambert of Braintree; Stephanie McDonald and her husband Jimmy of Pembroke; and Stacey Child and her husband Skip of Needham. His legacy also includes three nieces, Trinka Trubia of Marshfield; Dianne Nessralla and her husband Michael of Halifax; and Fern Langella and her husband Rick of Hanson, whom he took into his home and cared for as if they were his own.
Two more individuals held a special place in Wilfred's heart: his niece Joanne Rogers of Marshfield, who came into his home and cared for him for which we will forever be grateful, and his dear friend Robert Faherty, who he dearly loved and was his very special loyal friend who never left his side, especially in the end.
Wilfred was the devoted brother of Ferdnand Lambert, Lorraine Elwinger, Paul Lambert and George Lambert. Wilfred's remarkable life was enriched by his 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish his memory. He was predeceased by his grandchild James Lewis, with whom he is now reunited in heaven. Wilfred's love extended to his many nieces and nephews, each of whom felt his generosity and warmth.
As we mourn the loss of Wilfred J. Lambert, we also celebrate the extraordinary life he led and the countless ways in which he enriched our lives. His love, kindness, and selflessness will never be forgotten, and his memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. Wilfred's passing is not just the loss of a family member, but the loss of a man who was, in every sense, the heart of his community. He will be missed by so many.
