Judy Lambert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Legacy Funeral Center - Scott Chapel on Feb. 13, 2026.
Judith "Judy" Lambert, age 83, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Zelby and Pearl Williams, Judy carried her hometown pride with her wherever life led. She was a woman of vibrant spirit and joyful energy, known for her warm smile, quick wit, and a zest for living that drew others in.

Judy was an avid bowler and dancer, rarely missing an opportunity to enjoy good music or friendly competition. Whether she was on the lanes with friends or gliding across a dance floor, she embraced life with enthusiasm. In her kitchen, she was equally legendary, especially for her potent bourbon balls, a treasured treat that became a family favorite and a signature expression of her love.

In retirement, Judy and her beloved husband, Tom Lambert, cherished their time as snowbirds, escaping to warmer climates and creating special memories together. Eventually, they returned home to Jeffersonville, where they spent their later years surrounded by family and familiar comforts. Tom preceded her in death in 2023, and their enduring love remains a beautiful part of her story.

Judy's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her children, Debbie Bowman (Tim), Barbara Phelps (Steve), Charles Emerick, and Rick Emerick; her step-children, Pat Coffman (Mike), Carol James (Greg), and Dan Lambert (Dendra); 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Joy Cotner (Jim). She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Lambert, and her beloved grandson, Dale Bowman.

Judy will be remembered for her laughter, her hospitality, and the way she made everyone feel welcome at her table and in her heart. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she created, the recipes she shared, and the love she poured into every generation of her family.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street. Funeral services in her honor will be celebrated at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
