Willard “Bill” Gainer, 73, of Bone Gap, IL passed away peacefully in his home on December 4, 2025.
Bill proudly served in the Army National Guard from 1972 to 1978. He was a kind-hearted man who valued family above all else.
Bill was a man of many hobbies and enjoyed working with his hands. He loved tinkering with cars, motorcycles, ATVs and anything else he could get his hands on. When he wasn’t out finding trouble, trouble was finding him. He also enjoyed spending time with his two dogs, Hazel and Delilah, who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Eva Gainer; and his sons, Brad Gainer and David Gainer.
Bill is survived by his five grandchildren: Britney (Ben) Pond, Kelsey (Elijah) Shilling, Kaylee Gainer, Mason Gainer, and Chelsey Gainer; and his four great-grandchildren: Cadence Davis, Frank Davis; Bentley Davis; and Evelyn Gainer. They will forever cherish his stories, his humor, and the love he shared so freely. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation will take place. Services will be held at a later date.
