William (Bill) Junior Adams was born on October 21, 1951 the son of William and Berniece (Schumann) Adams at Carroll, Iowa. He was raised on the family farm in Stockholm Township Crawford County, Iowa. He was baptized in the Boyer United Methodist Church and later attended Sunday School and was confirmed in the United Methodist Church at Odebolt. With the closing of the Boyer Church, the family joined the United Presbyterian Church in Vail.
Bill started his education at Stockholm #7, and later moved to Ar-We-Va Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1969. After graduation he worked many different jobs. He helped his dad with construction, ran the Vail Drive In, part time at Kiron Food Palace, part time at Hy-Vee, and assisted Joyce Kock in her catering business until he started his own. During his many years of catering, Bill was also a go to cake baker, making cakes for almost every occasion. Along with the catering, his final job was being the Janitor, Cook, and Bus Driver for Ar-We-Va Community Schools Elementary building in Vail.
In the fall of 1983, he and his parents moved off of the family farm and into Vail. At that time, he became caretaker for them until their deaths. On July 6, 1991, at the United Presbyterian Church in Vail, he married his High School Sweetheart, Barb Fett. During the first years of their marriage, they hosted Foreign Exchange students from Germany (2), Spain and Thailand. In 1998, they adopted their daughter, Melissa Ann.
Bill was very active in his church and community. He spent many hours volunteering in several different capacities for the church and was a member of the church choir. He served several years, including many terms as president, on the Vail Community Club board as well as the Vail Swimming Pool board.
During his spare time, Bill enjoyed working in the yard, sewing, furniture refinishing, decorating, and helping out where he could. He especially enjoyed family gatherings and having his nieces and nephews come for the weekend.
