William F. Adderley, 64, of Watertown, NY, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at Samaritan Medical Center.
Born on August 17, 1961, in Watertown, NY he was the son of Frederick and G. Edathy (Keen) Adderley. William graduated from Watertown High School in 1979.
He began his career working for his father at Adderley Auto Sales on LeRay Street in Watertown. He later joined the New York State Department of Transportation, where he worked diligently for 30 years before retiring in 2016.
On October 5, 2007, William married Julie A. Bresee of Watertown in Waianae, Hawaii. The couple made their home in Watertown, where Julie worked for the Jefferson County Clerk's Office for 20 years and later served in the New York State Supreme and County Courts for 13 years, retiring in July 2019.
William was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed attending races with his wife over the years. He and his brother Tim were longtime members of Mike Adderley's dirt track racing team, traveling across New York State and Canada. He could often be found in his garage tinkering with his car or caring for his home, passions he pursued with joy and dedication.
William also looked forward to his daily breakfasts at Shorty's with his close friends and buddies, and he looked forward to visiting Hawaii to spend time with his in-laws.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Julie A. Adderley of Watertown; siblings: Constance (Mark) Davis of Burrville, NY; Patricia MacRae of Tempe, AZ; Thomas (Eileen) Adderley of Cape Vincent, NY; Timothy (Karen) Adderley of Cape Vincent, NY; and John (Patricia) Adderley of Anacortes, WA. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews, his mother-in-law Katrina Juiliani of Watertown, and sisters-in-law Darci and Rob Bauder II of Watertown, and Jolene Juiliani of Watertown.
He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Charles and Richard Adderley; brother-in-law Jean MacRae; and sister -in-law and brother-in-law Kim and Charles Brownell.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, 117 N. Massey Street, Watertown. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in William's memory to Grayson Adderley to help support his racing team and travel expenses. Contributions may be sent c/o Julie Adderley at 108 E.
