William Lewis Ahl

Bill Ahl was the son of the late William Elick Ahl and Gretchen Lauris Lewis Ahl from Alma, Georgia. He lived a wonderful life surrounded by family and friends.

Growing up in Alma, he learned a love for farm life and especially football. He was named one of the first All State Football players from Bacon County Highschool in 1958 and was inducted into the Wall of Fame for Bacon County Red Raiders in 2020. He went on to play for Georgia Tech. then getting his MBA at Baldwin Wallace University. Bill served our country in the United States Marine Corp from May of 1963-May 1966. He truly loved our nation and everything it stands for. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the Sharp Shooter Badge. he was a boy scout himself, then went on serve as a leader once they adopted their grandson Michael. In 1983, he met the love of his life, Karen. they married in 1985. During this time he worked for the Brady Corporation (1987-2010). He spent many years traveling and loved every minute of it. Bill loved meeting new people and making connections. Bill was a member of Toast Masters, a certified boat captain, loved to hunt and fish. He was also was a fond fan of flying airplanes, motorcycles and cars. He enjoyed working at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club after he retired. Most importantly Bill loved his family. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Marsha and Harriet, daughter Pamela Prince and hid great grandson Adrian. He is survived by his wife Karen, sons, Michael Ahl and Bobby Dent (Fernandina Fl.), William "Tracey" Terjesen (Jacksonville Fl.), daughter Kim(Jason) Parsonns (Birmingham, Al.) Grandchildren, Heather, Cline, Whit. Great Grandchildren Kayla and Zayne. Great Great grandchild Alex. His beloved nieces are Stefani (Darrell) Evans, Lauris(Marty)Mullis, Lindsey(Chris)Music. His cherished niece and nephews are Stephen, Reed, Hinson, Rigdon Sawyer Kate and his great great nephew Marsh Reed. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, our family is asking that any donations be made to the Baconn County high school Red Raiders football team in Alma Georgia.
