William "Bill" Allen, a pillar of love, faith, and service, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord on April 24, 2024, in North Richland Hills, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering devotion and gratitude. Born on September 20, 1947, in Fall River, Massachusetts, Bill's life was a testament to the transformative power of faith, love, and service.

Bill was a man known for his wisdom, wit, and humor. His personality was engaging and he was passionate about serving others. His strength was evident in his love for his family, his hard work ethic, and his commitment to doing things right the first time. He always prioritized others before himself, a lesson he passed down to his loved ones.

Bill proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran from 1965 to 1968, demonstrating courage and dedication during his time in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman with the Fleet Marine Force. His service was marked by selflessness and sacrifice, as he tended to the needs of his fellow servicemen and women with compassion and unwavering commitment.

Bill’s love for his family knew no bounds, and he considered them to be the greatest blessings in his life. Bill leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara Allen and his children - daughter Dawn Underhill & husband Glenn, daughter Kimberly Albritton & husband Chris, daughter Katherine Atkinson & husband Brent, daughter Erin Graham & husband Jim, son Brian Allen & wife Amanda, and daughter Megan Allen.

Bill's legacy of love extended to his 15 grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, all testaments to his enduring love and strength. He delighted in their laughter, nurtured their dreams, and celebrated their accomplishments with boundless pride - Luke, Landon, Laynie, Lily, Travis, Wyatt, Kelsey, Camryn, Liam, Logan, Maverick, Abram, Brock, Hayden, and Joshua.  He is also survived by his sisters, Maribeth Upchurch, Lois Thien, and Helen Nogar.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Vincent Allen, his mother, Mary Allen, and his brother, Scott Allen.

Arrangements for Bill's celebration of life are as follows: Visitation will take place on May 9, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brown Owens & Brumley Family Funeral Home in Fort Worth, TX.

The Funeral Service will be held on May 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Cross Creek Church in Colleyville, TX, followed by a private graveside service at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

In honoring Bill's memory, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause that reflected his compassionate spirit and commitment to serving others.

Bill's faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he found salvation by putting his faith in Jesus Christ. His deep faith, strong work ethic, love for others, and powerful legacy will continue to inspire us all.
