It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William D. Amos Sr., who peacefully left us on August 1, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 19, 1937 in Victor, West Virginia, William lived a life defined by hard work, unwavering strength, and boundless love for his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, The late Dave & Burnell Amos, and his wife Bertha W. Amos.
For over thirty years William dedicated himself as a bread truck salesman, building lasting relationships throughout the community. His entrepreneurial spirit later led him to establish Amos Mulch & Equipment, where his work ethic and integrity became his trademark. Above all his professional accomplishments, William's greatest pride was being a devoted father and the best Papa/Grandpa to his grandchildren that anyone could ask for.
William is survived by his daughter Vicki K. Johns (the late Richard), son W.D. Amos (Ginger), four grandchildren Alex Amos (Jenna), Jason Covington (Crystal), Chris Amos (Janis), and Emily Borum (Morgan), along with ten great-grandchildren who will forever cherish his memory. And, his loyal & faithful fur companion Daisy Mae Amos.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Centra Heart & Vascular Institute, Dr. Higey's office, and the amazing team at Amedisy's Hospice; especially Kate, Kirsten, and the amazing CNA Sherice.
A visitation will be held from 10:00AM - 11:00AM with a funeral service at 11:00AM, Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in Puckett Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Westview. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal shelter or charity of your choice.
