Dad was an interesting fellow. He knew a ton of facts about Boston. He also knew a lot about history. He had a great sense of humor and sarcasm. He was also an excellent cook. He worked very hard at his job to help his family. He wasn't perfect but no one is.

Mr. Anzivino was one of the greats - he knew that to care was to act when it came to his students. He created a course "Historical Biography" back in the 70's that I remember to this day and copied in my own classes when I followed in his footsteps and became a social studies teacher. The hair, the moustache, the sense of humor, the penmanship, the sarcasm, the genuine connection - all great memories. I will always appreciate his showing me the way.....

The world lost a great guy when Bill died. Our families remained close to each other for over forty years. I first met Bill at Scituate (MA) High School in the early 1970's when he taught Social Studies and I taught English/ Social Studies.Shortly after our meeting, it was his wife Helena who got my husband Lou (L.A. Meyer) a job as art teacher at nearby Rockland High.
Bill went on to become a beloved assistant principal, then went into the food service business, ending his career as Food Services Director at Mass. Eye and Ear.
His dinners featured his spectacular cooking and raconteurship and it was such a treat to be invited to dine with him and his family.
He was always immensely proud of his wife Helena, a longtime teacher in the Rockland, MA school system and of his chidren Jennifer and Nicholas.
We all will sorely miss him.
