He was born in Seattle, WA, on October 14, 1936, to the late Mildred Herman Appel and Clarence William Appel.
William obtained a bachelor's degree and retired from DuPont as a Senior Systems Analyst.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Jean Appel.
William is survived by his wife of 60 years, Georgia Winberg Appel, two sons, William (Julie) and Timothy L., grandchildren, Brandon Appel (Alexis), Timothy H. Appel, Mika Smith, Michael Smith (Lexi), and Jordn (Chiara), and great-grandchildren, Elias, Addilyn, Claire, Weston and Lainey Smith
.
Services will be held privately.
