William Frank Arnold was born on May 25, 1941, in Arlington, Tennessee, to the late Frank and Martha Arnold. He was the fourth of seven children and was preceded in death by his brother Robert and sisters Nancy, Billie, Rosie Lee, and Freddie.
William received his early education in Arlington and later moved to Chicago, Illinois, in the mid-1950s to join his family.
He married Katherine Taylor on June 9, 1959, and three daughters were born to this union: Rhonda, Marie, and Karen.
On January 14, 1978, he married Ola Mae Dozier, and together they had three children: Carmen, Jennifer, and Deshon.
William worked faithfully for many years as a construction laborer with Local 25 until his retirement. He accepted Christ at an early age and was committed to his faith, regularly attending Bible study.
He enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, and watching MSNBC and CNN.
On October 30, 2025, the Lord called William home to rest.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sister Dorothy Smith, six children, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives, friends, and a special friend, Mr. Lake.
William will be remembered for his strength, faith, and love for his family.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 1:00 pm until time of service 2:00 pm at Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory, 4001 W. Roosevelt Road, Hillside, Illinois.
