William Auclair Obituary
Mr. Auclair was born in Manchester, June 21, 1926 to Louis and Dora (Jutras) Auclair. He attended local schools. He was a lifelong resident of this city.
He was a Tec Sgt in the US Army during WWII with Company I, 20th Infantry in the Philippine Islands.
Mr. Auclair worked for Manchester Housing Authority for 22 years as a maintenance manager and retired in 1988.
He was an avid golfer, especially in his older years, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Members of his family include his wife of 47 years, Eileen (Jennings) Auclair of Manchester, a son and his wife, Gary and Melissa Auclair of Dunbarton, a grandson, Adam, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2008, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Durning, Bykowski & Young Funeral Home, 285 Manchester St., corner of Beech St.
A service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Urn burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
Contributions may be made to Alzhiemer’s Association of Ma & NH Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA. 02472.

Bill was one of the first golfers Diane & I met after we purchased Countryside G.C.[ the old Valley View C.C.] in Dunbarton.He & his buddy,Walter, told us they would give us a try! HE became a welcomed "regular" in a 3-some made up of Bill,Walter, & Bob Gagnon. They sure gave us alot of fun times & good laughs! Like many of our "regulars", Bill was always looking for Gracie, our Golden Retreiver & the club mascot. They became best of friends always looking for one another! Diane & I feel blessed to have been able to have Bill be part of our life while we were at Countryside. We have happy thoughts & smiles on our face when we think of him. Our sincere condolences to the entire Auclair family, especially you Eileen & you Gary. He was a good man.
