William Audia Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Amos Carvelli Funeral Home on Feb. 9, 2026.
William "Bill" Audia, 95, of Bridgeport, West Virginia, passed away on January 13, 2026, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, on February 10, 1930, a son of the late Joseph Audia and Rosa Oliverio Audia, who immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island from San Giovanni in Fiore, Italy.

Bill was united in marriage on April 25, 1951, to Nancy Lee Caroli Audia, who preceded him in death on July 28, 2025, after 74 years of marriage.

He is survived by two sons, Dr. Joseph Audia and his wife, Lena, of Salem, and Mark Daniel Audia and his wife, Monica, of Bridgeport; four grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Henderson and her husband, Steve, Brittany Lynn Audia, Christopher William Audia and his companion, Heidi Proctor, and Ryan Mark Audia and his wife, Samantha; and five great-grandchildren, Lucy, Luna, Lilyana, Austin and Layla Audia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Ann Audia, and four sisters, Mary R. Madia, Susan Moore, Victoria Louise DeSanto, and Katherine Dawson.

Mr. Audia proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy Air during the Korean War. He served as an Aviation Structural Mechanic specializing in hydraulics with Patrol Bomber Squadron VP-21, based out of Malta. Following his military service, he returned home and worked for Hazel Atlas, retiring as a supervisor after 37 years of dedicated service.

Bill was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where he served as an usher, Eucharistic Minister, and altar server for funerals. He was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Men's Group, a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Sons of Italy and American Legion Post 13. In 2018, Bill was honored as the West Virginia Italian Heritage Father of the Year.

Bill cherished time spent camping at Big Bear Lake with his children, grandchildren, and friends, and especially enjoyed vacationing with his wife and family. He found great joy in gardening and took particular pride in growing hot peppers and tending to his flower gardens.

Bill will be remembered for his strong faith, unwavering devotion to his family, dedicated service to his community, and the quiet love he shared with all who knew him.

There was no public visitation. A private graveside service was held.
