William Baker

WILLIAM "BILL" P. BAKER, 75, passed away on Sept. 24, 2022 at his home in Keizer, Oregon after a long-struggling Parkinson's disease. His final days were spent surrounded by his beloved wife, Dixie. Unfortunately it became too unbearable for his body. He and his loved ones were aware of his unfortunate disease. Losing Bill is one of the hardest things I will ever go through.
He was born on 20th July, 1947 in Salem, Oregon to David and Wanda Baker. He grew up on a farm in Aumsville. He graduated from Oregon School for the Deaf in 1968 then attended Gallaudet University in 1968. He gained a Business Administration degree from Gallaudet University in 1973. He had a successful career as an Accountant in Department of Transportation in Washington, D. C. In 1989, he returned to Oregon with his children and worked as an accountant at Oregon State University until his retirement in 2012.
In his spare time, he loved Harley-Davidson, fast cars, car shows, storytelling, strolling on beach, camping and traveling until his disease took his activities.
His family paid his tribute to him, Bill was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, he opened his heart and his home to welcome many friends over the years. No one who met Bill forgot his infectious passion for his sense of humor that lit up any where. He was so generous, smart and kind. He was what everyone needs, full of smiles and laughter, always did great deeds. He is remembered every day by his family and friends. Nothing can replace him.
Although he left his beloved wife, Dixie of 27 years and his two children, Tim (Fay) and Tammy and his siblings, Jim (Rosemary) and Susan, and step-children, Shandy (Christina) and Chanda. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, nieces, nephews, numerous special friends, and dogs. He will always be in our hearts and minds for the rest of our lives. He never stopped loving them with all his heart. He will be sorely missed by many of us.
At his request, there will be a private service on the beach amongst family members in his honor, when a family member comes home from Navy.
