William Barber Obituary
William Donald Barber, 92, of Sanford, went to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, December 30th, 2025, at Chatham Hospital.
Donald was born on December 11th, 1933, in Chatham County, to the late Ferry Mason and Emma Sophronia Bowman Barber. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Crystal Jeanne Barber; son, Paul Trenton Barber; brothers, Charles Barber and Ferry Barber, Jr.; and his sisters, Marion B. Todd and Ann B. Gaines.
He graduated from Goldston High School and attended NC State University. He enjoyed traveling in his RV cross country and to Mexico. Donald owned and operated Barber TV & Appliance until his retirement. Donald loved his family and making memories with them. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Donald “Donnie” Ray Barber of Carthage; his granddaughter, Heather Jones; his great granddaughter, McKenna Jones; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Goldston Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, January 17th, 2026, at 11:30 am. The family will receive family and friends after the service at the Barber home place, 1595 N. Main St., Goldston, NC 27252.
Smith & Buckner Funeral Home will be assisting the Barber family.
