William J. Batayte Jr., 45, passed away on September 14, 2025. Born the beloved son of the late William J. Batayte and Donna (Brophy) Batayte, William lived a life defined by passion, adventure, and deep love for his family and friends.
William had a generous spirit and a wide range of interests that reflected his adventurous soul. He was an animal lover at heart, with a special fondness for bulldogs. He found joy in forging and collecting knives, practicing martial arts, and honing his skills as a marksman. Nature was his sanctuary-he especially loved hiking and exploring the outdoors. Known for his kindness and warmth, William was truly loved by everyone who knew him.
He leaves behind his partner for many years Melissa Waterbury, and their beloved daughter, Rylie Waterbury. William is also survived by his stepmother, Kristen Amo Wotton; his two brothers, Zachary Batayte and wife Victoria and their son, William, and Matthew Batayte; and his Cherished grandmothers, Joan "Nana" Brophy and Helen Batayte.
William's love extended deeply to his extended family. He will be remembered with love by his aunts, Lee Anne and her husband Wayne Tanguay, Alisa Brophy, and Rosemary Murphy, along with Rosemary's children, Brian Murphy and Carolyn. He also leaves behind cousins who were more like siblings: Michael Lemay and wife Ashley and their son Michael III; William Pollock and wife Breanna and their children Aubrey, Raelynn, and William IV. Nicholas and Tracy Lemay and their children Lincoln and Owen; and Joseph Pizzolongo and Hayley Lemay and their daughter Serena; He also leaves behind his wonderful friends Tatjana Case and Rachel Cousano who cared for him deeply and were always there for him.
William was predeceased by his nephew, Levi Lemay, with whom he now rests in peace, his grandfather's, Donald Brophy, and Edward Batayte and his uncle Michael Brophy. He will be remembered not only for the passions that brought him joy, but for the love, loyalty, and laughter he shared with those closest to him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
donations may be made in William's memory to Love From Levi or to an animal rescue organization of your choice.

Will was my brother´s friend, he loves his dog´s. I had listened to music in Wills car in the 1990´s. Then was fishing off the peers in the Long Island sound with will my brother and will used large live bait shrimp and dead squid. I bought a star fish 7" by 7" Will is fun to be around. Thank the angels that I knew Will.
