Bill Bauer was a wise judge, a great lawyer and leader who inspired his staffs and was a friend to many. Honored that I had the chance to clerk for him in the first two years after he was appointed to the 7th Circuit.

Bill Bauer was a fellow alum and long-time trustee of Elmhurst University and a long time Elmhurst resident. We will miss him and his wisdom, grace and generosity. He will always be a shining example of the public servant who selflessly serves his community and fellow man.

Hard to believe that so many of our stalwart Elmhurst and Illinois citizens have joined the celestial band above. Even out here in CA, memories abound of how it used to be...We had the pleasure of living across the street at one point but aside from that all neighborhoods held special people and conjure special memories. RIP
