William "Bennie" Benjamin Marshall, age 62, of Vandalia, MO passed away at 7:33 pm Saturday, January 3, 2026, at his home.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Waters Funeral Home. Pastor Nathan Gessey will officiate.
Visitation celebrating Bennie's life will be held 12:00 pm until the time of the service Thursday at Waters Funeral Home.
Bennie was born on February 26, 1963, the son of Guy Edward and Donna (Degraffenreid) Marshall.
He was united in marriage to Rochella Marshall on July 20, 2024, in Vandalia, MO.
Bennie is survived by his wife, and his mother-in-law, Carolyn Bailey, his stepchildren in Virginia, stepson, Justin Bland (Lacey), brothers Guy "Bo" Marshall (Gina), David Marshall (Debbie), Tim Marshall (Sara), and sister Cathy Lamberson (Paul), his brother-in-law Lonnie Bailey, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon who passed away in 1997 and his parents.
Bennie's passion for photography began at an early age and flourished throughout his life. He attended Marshall University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in photography, establishing a foundation that would guide his successful career.
He previously worked at the Vandalia Leader as their photographer.
Bennie was known not only for his artistic talents but also for his warm spirit and dedication to family and friends. He was a proud member of the Beacon of Hope, reflecting his commitment to serving those around him. His love for photography brought joy to many, and his remarkable work was recognized with two prestigious Golden Awards.
Throughout his life, Bennie enjoyed spending quality time with his beloved family, relishing moments spent watching old seasonal movies and engaging in discussions reflective of his interest in his leisure pursuits. A proud Eagle Scout, he carried the values of leadership and community service with him always.
Memorial contributions may be made to Beacon of Hope Church, in care of Waters Funeral Home.
